Maria Chapa
I was born in 1982 in southern Italy from an Italian father and Mexican mother. After my parents separation my mother brought me to Mexico at
just 2 months old. Following 4 years of travelling around Mexico, we settled in a beautiful town in the center of the country called Tepoztlán.
In this magical place I've spent most of my life surrounded by nature, creativity and spirituality. This formed a strong foundation for me where I
have grown, learned, loved, and known amazing people.
As a young girl I had a calling and skill for the arts. At 18 years old, with
limited resources, I had decided to start my professional studies in a career that allowed me to encourage
and explore my artistic individuality. This was jewelry.
I spent 2 years attending The National School of Fine Arts located in a former mining town and birthplace
of many silver/goldsmiths and designers, called Taxco. This gave me an excellent opportunity to
further develop and discover my creative imagination and in turn become financially independent by selling my own creations.

Shortly after starting my studies "Ambala" began to form...and so I embarked on this journey that has
taken a little over 14 years of trials, learning experiences, and growth which is always sustaining and enhancing my life.
My hope is to enrich others life's in return with my work and designs which undoubtedly belong to my
heart and portray who I am, what I feel and what I want to convey to world.
Gracias
